Governor Cuomo announced that Trellis Earth Products is moving its manufacturing operations from China and launching its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Gates.
Trellis is investing $8.3 million in its new headquarters and will create 189 jobs.
Trellis makes eco-friendly forks, knives, spoon, school lunch trays and plates. All products will be made from its very popular bio-plastic blend that is primarily comprised of plant starch, greatly reducing petrochemical consumption and lessening the burden on landfills.
Trellis will break ground on a 80,000 square foot facility in the Rochester Technology Park this summer.
